Spreading Hope Worldwide: Andrew's Legacy Goes International

Honoring World Cancer Day 2024

This past Sunday, February 4th, the world observed World Cancer Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about cancer and promoting its prevention, detection, and treatment. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against this devastating disease. Sadly by the end of this week, 49 children in the United States alone will lose their lives to cancer, making childhood cancer the leading cause of disease-related deaths among children and teenagers.

Despite these statistics and the profound impact on families, childhood cancer remains significantly underfunded. UDance is proud to benefit the continued efforts of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation. As the nation’s leading provider of financial assistance for families fighting childhood, The B+ Foundation has been instrumental in funding groundbreaking research grants that contribute to the development of life-saving treatments.

Entering its 18th year, UDance has become a source of hope, drawing generations of University of Delaware students into its community. These students have passionately embraced the mission to make a difference in the lives of children affected by childhood cancer. The enduring impact of UDance extends beyond the borders of the university, as our students today carry the torch of the "Be Positive" message far beyond their years as Blue Hens.

FTK Around The World

To kick off our efforts this calendar year, UDance went international! UDance gear became the unofficial uniform for students exploring international destinations during this past winter session. As students explored, they carried with them more than just luggage. From our UDance t-shirts, hats, and hoodies, participants shared pictures wearing their merch in amazing locations all over the world, showcasing their commitment to “Live Like Andrew” wherever they go!
