To the UDance community: we thank you!

As the end of the year is quickly approaching, we want to recognize exactly how your generous donations are changing the lives of children and families around the country:

For families, you have made the difference between paying for their child’s meals at the hospital, or gas to travel to treatment facilities. You are helping B+ pay for a family’s electric bill so they can refrigerate their child’s medicine. Or another family’s utility bill so they can heat their home and water during winter months so their child doesn’t get sicker. Every dollar you donate gives families the opportunity to be present for their brave child and give them every opportunity to survive.

In addition to providing direct and immediate financial assistance to families of children with cancer, your donation to UDance also helps The B+ Foundation fund research to find cures for childhood cancers and advancements in treatment protocols.

Meet Gavin. Despite only having a 10% chance of reaching his third birthday, 3-year-old Gavin is now a proud preschooler and soccer player because of donations from UDance raised by supporters like you.

Gavin was diagnosed with DIPG, the deadliest form of childhood cancer with a 10% survival rate of 2 years, and after that, only a chance of providing time and comfort.

Because of the UDance community and many other generous donors, The B+ Foundation has been able to help fund studies like BrainChild-03, a study out of Seattle Children’s Hospital lead by Dr. Vitanza. This study is working to find a treatment for DIPG.

Gavin is one of the first children to be treated in this trial and he is now growing up with no symptoms, and is ready to take on soccer and preschool because of organizations like UDance.

Supporters like you, raising money for UDance, have directly helped fund this ground-breaking research that gives families like Gavin’s something they didn’t have 2 years ago: hope.

In addition to the research that allowed Gavin to start preschool and soccer, The B+ Foundation has provided research grants to institutions both nationwide and globally such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (TN), Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (MA), Seattle Children’s Hospital (WA), Children’s Oncology Group, and the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research (DE). With your support, there are children and teens like Gavin alive today due to research funded in part by UDance and The B+ Foundation.

These incredible efforts will allow us to help more families of children with cancer nationwide and will bring us one step closer to a world without childhood cancer, and for that, we thank you!
